Our Story
A Torres Strait Islander management consultancy built on deep expertise across environmental, sustainability, and technology disciplines.
Meriam Consulting Group was founded by Isaiah Dau, a Torres Strait Islander environmental professional with family connections to Mer Island (Murray Island) in the Torres Strait. Isaiah is a relative of Eddie Koiki Mabo, whose landmark High Court case established the principle of Native Title in Australia — both tracing their roots back to Mer Island.
With deep experience across major Australian infrastructure and government programs, Isaiah established Meriam Consulting Group to bring genuine Indigenous leadership to management consulting. We believe that Australia's environmental, sustainability, and technology challenges require solutions grounded in both strategic excellence and cultural understanding.
Our name honours the Meriam people and the enduring principle that the relationship between people and their land must be recognised, respected, and protected.
